Ralph Lauren Cafe + Thrifting in Tysons Virginia

Working from home can be cool...until it's not.  So in an effort to shake off my work-from-home blues and add a little sparkle to my week, I decided to indulge in two of my favorite activities: sipping coffee in style and shopping for vintage gems at a thrift store. And it was exactly what I needed!

A Chic Coffee Break at the Ralph Lauren Cafe

First stop: the Ralph Lauren Cafe...I’ve been compiling a list of must-visit cafes in the DMV area (stay tuned for that list!), and the Ralph Lauren Cafe was right at the top. While I’ve always dreamed of visiting their New York location, imagine my surprise when I discovered there was one just 25 minutes away at Tysons Corner Mall in Virginia!  The vibe was super cute and cozy. The cafe is seamlessly connected to the Ralph Lauren retail store, and despite being inside a bustling mall, it felt surprisingly quiet and peaceful—perfect for a coffee break.

At the barista’s recommendation, I ordered a matcha latte with vanilla, and to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it! (I’ll admit, I’m usually more of a coffee girl.) Beyond lattes, they also offer hot chocolate, a selection of pastries, and even a curated collection of merchandise, including chic coffee mugs, tea sets, and dad hats.  If you enjoy a good shopping session with an equally stylish cup of coffee. Highly recommend adding this to your “treat yourself” list!

Thrifting at Tyson's Corner: The Highs and Lows

Next up, I decided to revisit a thrift store I hadn’t been to in a while called, Unique Thrift. It’s a massive space, and even on a random Tuesday, it was packed. I was excited to dig through the racks and ended up finding some really cool vintage pieces, but here’s the catch—the prices.

Thrifting has always been a budget-friendly thrill for me, but the skyrocketing prices at some places lately? Not so much. $80 for a non-designer piece of jewelry is crazy. It’s a frustrating reminder of how a lot of these companies are capitalizing on donated goods.

Despite the sticker shock, I managed to score some amazing pieces that I can’t wait to style. (Spoiler alert: there’s a YouTube thrift haul video below where I show off everything I found—don’t miss it!) I also shared more about how I spent my day and the little things I did to shake off my work-from-home slump.

Entering my Estate Sales Era:

So this thrift trip got me really thinking about what's next when it comes to sourcing vintage.  I’ve always loved the hunt and charm of thrifting, but this experience pushed me to explore other options—like estate sales. I recently attended my very first one, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer! I’ll be diving into all the details about that adventure in my next blog post, so stay tuned for that!

Final Thoughts

Sometimes, you just need a day to mix things up and reconnect with what makes you happy—whether it’s sipping matcha in a chic cafe, hunting for vintage gems, or just exploring your city. These little adventures left me feeling inspired, refreshed, and ready to tackle whatever comes next.

So, whether you’re a coffee connoisseur, a thrifting queen, or just someone looking for a new vibe, I hope this inspires you to step out of your routine and try something new. And don’t forget to check out my YouTube channel for the full thrift haul and a peek into my day!
